Failure: What does it really mean?

How many times do you hear the word failure in a day or your lifetime? Countless times, yet every time it's spoken it hurts as much.

What exactly is failure? It is the inability to perform a task. It sounds so simple yet there's so much negative emotion attached to it.

Failure to perform in exams. Failure to follow your Keto diet. Failure to keep your spouse happy. Failure to do well at your job. The list of failures is endless.

I for one has failed more than I have had successes. But in my experience the success that follows a failure is far better and much sweeter than the one which did not taste any sort of failure.

Lakhs of people end their lives because they fail to meet some expectation someone else has set. Can you believe it? For example, there are women who commit suicide because they can't bear a child. Is success or happiness equal to a child being born yes sometimes it is but when one fails at it, society gives the person a permanent failure tag. Which the person lives with for a while but fails to continue. Living a life and measuring success and failure with someone's life is like eating from your own plate while dreamily looking at someone else's.

There is not a single human being who hasn't gone through failure but everytime a person fails we look down upon that person as if he's caught some disease we all will catch. Failure doesn't mean the Game is Over. It means lets try another way and then another path till you finally reach where you are supposed to. I was so bad at maths as a kid that I was convinced I could never conquer it. And guess what, I couldn't really ever conquer it. I am as weak as I was years back. Failure not only makes you try again but at times it helps you to change direction.  I moved from maths to something I could easily conquer and it worked for me. That's how it is with everything in life. You fail, you move on and definitely not end your world there. But for many the world ends where you fail.

Loosing my baby weight after pregnancy has been the biggest challenge, the pressure to be fit, rather fit in the pre-defined shape society has for me is immense. So many of my friends, put up a fit picture of themselves on social media but how many put a picture when they were not so fit. Very few, which lays the bed for failure. This write up is an effort to tell my fellow failures that 'failure acha hai.

To loose everything and then gain something valuable can be life altering.  To fail is the first sign of success, it is a sign that you are growing as an individual that you are trying but maybe need to choose a different route. Failure is simple, failure is sweet, failure is everything an individual needs to become a better him or her. Give failure a chance !
